NAMA Facility Donors – the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU); the European Union and the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate (EFKM) – have approved funding to support the implementation of ambitious NAMAs in Guatemala, Mexico and Tunisia. Four NAMA Support Projects will receive funding as part of the NAMA Facility’s 4th Call:
-In Guatemala, Efficient Use of Fuelwood and Alternative Fuels in Indigenous and Rural Communities
-In Mexico, Energy Efficiency in SMEs as a Contribution to a Low-Carbon Economy and NAMA for Sugar Mills
-In Tunisia, Scaling-Up Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in the Tunisian Building Sector
Following the Detailed Preparation Phase, these projects submitted Proposals to the NAMA Facility, and Donors then approved their respective concepts to enter the fully fledged Implementation Phase. The NAMA Facility’s support for these Support Projects illustrates the Donors’ continued commitment to ambitious climate action.
