Calls for Projects

The NAMA Facility has held 9 Calls so far, including a special Ambition Initiative Call and the Ambition Initiative – Round Two. A go-to platform for grant-based climate finance, the NAMA Facility places emphasis on providing financial support to developing countries and emerging economies that show leadership in tackling climate change. The NAMA Facility provides financial support for implementing national climate strategies and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in line with Paris Agreement goals via mitigation actions such as Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in relevant sectors thereby, realising sustainable transformational change towards a carbon-neutral pathway. With this objective in mind, the Donors of the NAMA Facility decided to hold open competitive Calls and select the most ambitious, innovative and promising NAMA Support Projects (NSPs) for funding. Applicants from Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible countries are invited to submit NSP Outlines.

Apply for Funding:

NSPs are seen as the most ambitious part of the NAMA / NDC and achieve their impact through a combination of financial and technical measures. NAMA Facility funding can be used to develop financial mechanisms and deliver technical assistance to tackle wider policy, regulatory or other barriers that inhibit investment and constrain carbon-neutral development.
